Meet Melissa Wiseman
Dance Teacher

Missy has been teaching dance for just about 15 years, and has been dancing since she was 5. Her very first dance classes were actually clogging classes at Dance Attack in Sandy, UT. Later, she trained primarily in ballet at Utah Dance Center while also taking classes in jazz, tap, hip hop, and tumbling. In high school, Melissa spent time on both Drill and Cheer at Jordan High.

Missy received multiple scholarships for dance and for academics, most notable was the Sterling Scholar Award for Dance. She went on to study in the Modern Dance program at the University of Utah where she was lucky to study with amazing professors and choreographers from around the world. She was one of the first dancers from the U to travel to Panama with a program called Movement Exchange, a program centered around dance teaching in different cultures. There they taught all ages from preschool orphans to college students studying at the University of Panama. Also while in college, Missy was selected for the Arts Bridge scholarship, which is another university program centered around arts teaching. Missy performed a lot in college with the university’s Performing Dance Company. She was contracted as a performance dancer at the Natural History Museum of Utah for a special exhibit called Weaving a Revolution, an exhibit that focused on Native American cultures. Missy later performed with smaller contemporary dance groups such as Starry Eyed and Birds of Paradise.

Missy has taught all across the Wasatch Front at countless studios and schools, both public and private. At Project Dance, she specializes in teaching ballet to the advanced students. Missy LOVES the students and staff at Project Dance for their positive culture and disciplined work ethic!

Missy’s other passion is her work at DR Horton, both America’s and Utah’s largest home builder. There Missy manages the worlds best new home sales team as they work with the rest of the company to somewhat alleviate the housing shortage here in Utah. Missy also loves studying health sciences, loves getting sunshine while enjoying outdoor adventures, and is certified to teach yoga and PBT.
